Hello Snippets fans!
This week has been incredible. With over 19 days to go, we're already more than 60% of the way to our goal! Thank you to everyone for supporting Snippets and The Master Theorem Games, and a special thank you to all you Snippets Hero backers! There have been a surprising number of large pledges, and I'm incredibly grateful for how much you believe in this project. Please be sure to keep sharing the Kickstarter campaign with anyone else you think may enjoy it!
A Behind the Scenes Peek
If you were to play a round of Snippets with the letters MAN, you and your friends might come up with words like MANATEE, SAMANTHA, or BROMANCE, and chances are you'd have a great time. But if you played a round with BMA, I'm guessing it wouldn't be too long before you'd want to throw the box at the wall.
With thousands upon thousands of 3-letter snippets in the English language, but only 250 snippet cards, you might be wondering how I've selected only the most "fun" ones to include with the game. The short answer: it was hard!
But having been playing this game informally with friends for over a decade now, I've gradually come up with a few theories on what makes a snippet "fun" versus wall-smashingly "not fun," and I've incorporated these often surprising rules into some custom snippets-generating software.
Overall, the easier it is to think of words under pressure for a given snippet, the more fun it will be, so perhaps obviously, a major funness factor is the sheer number of words in English that a snippet appears in. But there's a lot more to it than that!
